all i can say is WOW!!!!

today i decidedto try out teh 59 in my charvel model just to see how it is. ND IM SO GLAD I DID!! the super d, tyhough i did like it, was kinda mushy sounding. not muddy, but mushy, you know when playing something fast it sounds morer like a mush of notes instead of being heard articulately. i was thinking to myslef, i hope it doesn't have a shrill high end because the eq sorta looks like it would. BUT IT DOESN'T!!! it's so smooth sounding. im still able to play fast stuff and it stioll sound great, even with my normall amp setting(gain on 5 and eq on 5 and presewnce on 8 ) it sounds incredible. maybe it seems as if im a low output guy :smack:
maybe, but all i know now is that the guitar is setup perfectly(intonation and all) and it sounds fantastic.

Way ta go moom, how dose it compair to the Custom ? Palm mutes, pince harmonics, etc. Dose it do METAL well or what, give a a review. Thank you my friend, and allways. your a class act.

alright, i dont have the custom with me right now as i speak. the guitar is in th shop right now so i'll see if i cxan remember.

the custom is much more agressive and tighter sounding, but thats obvious because of the ceramic magnet and the hotter winds. but the cleans are way better. the custom has a more modern sound wth more mids, and has more of a punch. but the 59 still has punch, a nice thick punch wiuth low gain and a balanced eq. it seems easier to play stuff now, beczause it's not as hot and doesn't show your mistakes as much. legato seems easire..... not easier but comes throuogh better.
it can do metal fine, you just need to eq it right. hot pickups only do metal good because they drive your amp harder. but i think you lose tone when you do that. try a set of 59's or pearly gates and you'll see what i mean. it's mostly in the eq.

Forgot to add, since your a DiMarzio guy what do you think about the Fred and PAF Pro for METAL ?

remember, anything can do metal.

alnico 2 pro's copuld do metal, lindy fralin single coils could do metal. it' all about how you eq your amp.
how about you try the FRED in bridge and PAF pro in neck, take a word from satch
i dont have the FRED or PAF PRO but i have tried them in the satch guitar and they saound good. i like the extrat mids in the FRED and the paf pro is a great neck pickup. just get one, if you dnt like it you can exchange it for something else.
but liek i said, anything can do metal. it's not hot pickups, oyu can do it with anything.

now all i need to do is get a guitar with 2 PG's in it. i've been wanting to try that combination for a while now! 2 hotter paf pickups, kinda like 2 paf pro's!
