For anyone that can help me with this;
I have a Tokai SG copy with an all mahogany body & neck w/rosewood board. I find that the stock pickups lack warmth/depth/clarity (too muddy). I'm going for a pickup that'll capture that scorching Angus Young lead tone but also be able to handle mondo gain for metal playing.
From what I've researched on the forum the medium output '59 pup can get that vintagey ac/dc vibe. By the way are they alnico V magnets? I know that's what Angus used. On the other hand there's the Custom which has a beefier PAF tone apparently, but would that do the Angus type lead work?
And to add a final pickup to the mix; what about the Gibson Angus Young signature? That has the Alnico V with a little more juice from what I've read. Anyone tried that one? Appreciate any advice u guys might have.:scratchch
