I'm considering replacing the bridge on my guitar now since it doesn't hold it's tuning very well and the whammy bar doesn't even work with it because it just throws the whole thing out of tune. (also a nice gold bridge would look pretty sick). So I'm looking for suggestions on how to choose which bridge to buy, how will I know if it fits my guitar, and is it easy to install myself, like what do i need to do? it's a fixed bridge by the way on a 1980's flying-v knockoff, thanks

If the guitar is worth $150, you may not want to invest $60 into a new bridge.
If it's a strat type trem, just put all 5 springs in the back, tighten it down hard, and make sure the screws on top are snug. Called "Anchored down bridge"
I do this on all my strats because I have no use for a trem bar that barely stays in tune. I don't like floating strat bridges at all, since bends mess up other strings pitch.

If it dosent stay in tune I probally is not the bridge. It could be but, I would have a good tech check it out. It could be the nut, tuning keys, or the way you are stringing the guitar. Or it could be any other number of things.

thanks guys, im pretty sure it's worth it to replace it 'cause i've been told the guitar is worth like $500-$600 from a guitar tech and that it is a problem with the bridge thats not keeping it in tune very well (the nut was replaced only a few months ago)
