Hi! New to forum. Bought a SH2N pickup for neck position on a Washburn hollow body but it’s pickup has only one wire.
SH2N has four wires. I didn’t see a post about this, I appreciate any advice on how to do this. Thx

youre old pickup has a hot wire and ground wire. your new pup has five wires. start and finish of each coil and a bare ground wire. typical duncan wiring for series operation (normal humbucker wiring) is use the black as the hot wire (to volume control or switch), solder the red and white wires together and insulate the connection so it doesnt come into contact with anything accidentally, and connect the green and bare wires to ground (typically the back of a pot)

yeah... not fun LOL

you could clip the wires of the old pickup and use those as connection points, saves a lot of bs. youll end up with short wires on the old pup but since its not the best anyway and new wires could always been added... not the best way to do it, but suuuure is easier
