Replacing Hot Rails with Vintage Stack

Hi

First time on here and would appreciate our opinion

I have a Yamaha PAC1611MS

http://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/mu...611_mike_stern/?mode=model#tab=product_lineup

It is standard with a Seymour Duncan 59 in the neck and Hot Rails at the bridge

I want to replace the Hotrails with something like the STK-T3b Vintage Stack which sounds like it could be the best compromise between traditional Telecaster tone and hum free

In your opinion would the Vintage Stack balance well with the 59

Would be interested in your views

Thank you

Re: Replacing Hot Rails with Vintage Stack

Have you tried the Hotrails wired in parallel?

Re: Replacing Hot Rails with Vintage Stack

It will give less output to the HR, make it not as hot as HR in series. It will not sound like traditional tele, but single coil like and hum free. Maybe you'd already be happy with that and don't have to buy a new pickup. And to answer your question, yes, Vintage Stack will balance with '59 with proper height adjustment.
