Replacing Ibanez 5 way switch with the Fender 5 way switch

Hi there!

I need help for changing the 5 way switch of my guitar. Now it lookes like that.
But how could I replace it for a fender one?

Is it possible? If yes, look at the Ibanez wiring here again. Where could I solder the wires which connect the 5 way switch and the volume poti directly and the second one on the fender 5 way switch?

Thanks!

I do it all the time because I find the Switchcraft switches to be more reliable than the import plastic inline switches.

Fender:

8765
1234

Ibanez (import)

1234 8765

4 and 8 are the commons, the view is looking down at the terminals.

The higher end IBZ Switches are those finky 2-row /2 pc board square ones.... still a POS though :D:D

This schematic may help as well, assuming your guitar is H-S-H like most Ibies ;)

That;s pretty close, but the one from Dimarzio's site would be easier to follow as it uses the Dimarzio colours, like the IBZ one.

Hope this helps!
