Replacing P-90 w/mini hum?

I just bought one of those cheap Les Paul Jr. copies from Rondo, and even though it hasn't arrived yet, my mind's already racing with new pickup ideas.

I was looking at the pickup dimensions, and it looks like mini humbuckers and soapbars may be interchangable. However, I've never had a guitar with soapbars before, so I'm not sure how they're mounted or anything. So, would there be any problems replacing soapbars with mini humbuckers? (I may stick with soapbars, but I want to explore all my options.)

I think that the mini-hums (with mounting rings) will drop right in.

That being said, give those (or another kind of) P-90s a chance. Great stuff.
