Are there any guide lines or methods to match guitars, pickups, amps and speakers ?
If a guitar resonates at lets say 7khz, is it best to match pickups that have at least a 7Khz peak ?
If the guitar and pickups resonate at the same hz, what is the best way to round the sound out ? Amp and / or speaker ? Mixing board ? I know not all individual tastes can be accounted for, but I do not imagine most people want a narrow band of hz to dominate. (and let's not take into account cost - for example changing pickups instead of speakers because people can not afford to have an amp for each guitar) I am just interested in ideal scenarios.
On the same subject - I always wonder why Fender makes Strats - known for their high end, and amps which I believe more often than not have lots of treble.
