Return my lovely Les Paul Custom to its original aesthetic and period sound

Re: Return my lovely Les Paul Custom to its original aesthetic and period sound

....so an update follwing a lot of research and advice... After lots of questions and answers with Jaime at The Creamery http://www.creamery-pickups.co.uk/ (a v.v. helpful chap) I've gone for the Creamery Handwound Custom '59 Replacement Humbucker Pickup - Vintage Tone 4 way for coil tapping Bridge Output: 8.2k Neck Output: 7.3k, 42 AWG with Alnico 2 bridge & Alnico 4 neck. Hand made to spec, "A slightly higher output but still with that classic, vintage rich warm tone with great harmonics & definition. The coils are asymmetrically wound giving more dynamics, clarity & string definition". He's going to make them for me with aged gold covers - they're not chemically treated to look aged but simply nickel silver covers with a little higher copper content to give a duller, yellowed, aged faded gold look (pic attached) that will match the aged hardware. I can use then coil tap switches then too so they are not redundant but I suspect I'll not use them much if the sounds is good as I've heard on line in humbucker mode. Can't wait. 59 specials in aged gold.jpg

Been meaningtoo update this for a while. Here she is with the Creamery Handwound Custom '59s above with which Ii am very happy. I had the pots replaced with 500ks and the treble bleed mod. The sound from both pickups is gorgeous extremely balanced and even, with a sweet top end and singing mids.

That is stunning! I'm pleased you've found the pickups that both look and sound how you want.
