Ok now I know that no pedal can eve match a true spring reverb but im trying to find a good and strudy reverb pedal. I'v made a list of the ones that I like Im trying to stay around $120ish. Heres the list:
DigiTech Digital reverb pedal
Electro Harmonix Holy Grail (some tell me its excelent and others that its crap)
Boss RV-5 reverb

Edit: Other pedal ideas are welcome too.

Re: Reverb pedal?

I just picked up a Line 6 Verbzilla. It has a 63' spring setting that's very close.
I A/Bed it with my Princeton Reverb and I must say it's convincing at best. I think with some more tweaking I could have gotten it even better? In my A/B
test The pedal didn't seem to have that deep splatty sound of the amps verb,But on the other hand it was more crisper sounding. Definitely in the ballpark though.:fing2:

Re: Reverb pedal?

I have had a couple of serious spring verbs and I swear by the Holy Grail. It is better in an effects loop. That may be why those who don't like them don't like them (?!?! I've been drinking). Awesome after an OD/Dist if not in the loop.

Re: Reverb pedal?

The Holy Grail's where it's at.

They tend to be pretty cheaply made though.....but I've also heard of folks having one and using it forever without incident.

Re: Reverb pedal?

Danelectro Spring King is the closest thing to a tank -albeit, with short springs- without spending that kind of money. It's a one trick pony, but it's real. Works direct or, even better, in an effects loop. Eats batteries, but don't they all...?

Re: Reverb pedal?

Boss RV-5 is terrible.

Holy Grail is much, much better.
