Reverberate me please

I'm really enjoying the use of reverb lately when playing at home. All I have is a very cheap Dano FAB Echo that I'm using. It sounds OK but not up to my standards. Plus I have to set it so it acts more like reverb than a repeating/slap echo like it's designed to do.

Would you say the Echo effect is halfway between reverb and delay?
Echo doesn't reverberate as wide or deeply, and it doesn't reach as long or repeat as much as delay.

At any rate (LoL), I'll be buying a new reverb pedal and the TC Electronics Hall of Fame is the front runner. What else should I consider with these specs:

-small space taker on the floor
-under $150
-more than 3 reverb types
-low noise
-transparent when on & off

I got a TC Electronic Flashback delay and it's flippin' floppin' awesome! I can't imagine the Hall of Fame being of a lower standard.
You may want to give it a test drive before you buy it tho, if possible. Just to make sure. Other than that, go for it dude!

Anyway, if you are willing to go to 3 modes, the holy grail is great, and the tech 21 reverb I haven't tried yet but it sounds amazing in the clips.

Checkout the TC Trinity reverb too.....some really cool spacey effects as well as the usual TC settings and flexibility. I just bought mine and am waiting on its arrival.

I had a Holy Grail about ten yeras ago and HATED it. Way too unrefined/vintage sounding and very noisey. Since then I've steered away from EH pedals. Although this time around I am considering the Holy Grail Nano purely for it's size and I'm hoping the newer EH pedals are quieter and more smooth sounding.
I also looked at the T Rex Tonebug reverb. I sounds great in clips, but there seems to be some complaint about the FET switch, which I don't understand. People say it's a tone sucker??

The more I think about it, I think I want a simple reverb pedal with just a few dials and maybe two sound options.

If you have the Wallet for it the Strymon stuff is really nice. The HoF or the BOSS reverb are atill damn good for those of us of more modest means

Reverb & Delay are completely different effects. Reverb pedals are decent but nothing will beat a real Reverb tank. If you REALLY want proper Reverb look at the Fender Reverb tank. That should solve all your reverb issues, but if you want a pedal look at the Verbzilla!

I have a big box EH Holy Grail. I love the sound of mine, but if that isn't your gig then I'd steer towards the Hall Of Fame. The Holy Grail is the Holy Grail of reverbs for me- it is a simple one-knob single-switch pedal with a great spring-amp-like reverb.

It should be stated that I only go on record saying, "all reverbs are inferior to amp reverb tanks." That is all.

Holy Grails are great. I have a Verbzilla and for what I do with it it works well. But I agree NOTHING beats a real reverb tank. On of these is pretty cool. What I like about them over on board Reverb is they have a dwell and decay control too so these are the units that I think would be considered to be top of the line...

The best sanely priced verb I have found is just over your stated budget. It's the Hardwire Supernatural and is just a killer verb. LOTS of cool options but also GREAT basic verbs that rival the Strymon at a little under 1/2 the price. BIG step above the other verbs I have used in this price range including that TC.
I also own a Hardwire RV-7 and a Berringer verb Machine + looked hard at all the rest before I settled on the Supernatural.
Only available here but trust me is well worth the $ and stomps everything else in the price range!

The Epiphone Valve Junior Hot Rod tube amp head can be used as a reverb tank. Should be a bit cheaper than the Fender reverb tank, I think.

In the past I've only ever used amp reverb, but a couple of years ago I heard the Nuenaber WET Reverb pedal, and I have to admit it's been on my live board ever since. It's a simple pedal without any programmability, but it's so beautifully musical and rich that I have found ways to get around it. On the shorter settings it can add a nice ambience, but I like using it at more extreme settings, which produce something that reminds me a lot of those Daniel Lanois style soundscapes. I only use it a couple of times in the course of a live set, and it sends the guitar off into the stratosphere, just for a moment. Here's a demo I recorded just after getting the pedal. I start out dry, then with mild short settings, right through to the guitar cave stuff.
