I just saw the Rev playing his last week. Guy is a cool player and seriously underrated. Not in a shred technical way, but in a note choice and phrasing kinda way for sure.

i agree, he definately stands out among psychobilly guitarists

most of them sort of go back & forth between punk & rockabilly, but he's fused them together & it just sounds like really really ballsy rockabilly, and i love love LOVE gretsch tone, not a fan of the prices though, ack, i need to make more money

When I saw the Rev a few months ago he only played a White Falcon which he mentioned several times that he was quite fond of. I think it was very cool of Gretsch to give him his own sig model. He is a ferocious player that rarely gets the kind of praise he is worthy of.

your speak the truth wattage, he is a very good player. I wish the guitar didn't cost so much but oh well. I still have my sites set on a good hollow body sometime in the far off future

That great Gretsch sound!

Well Malcolm Young, Brian Setzer and The Rev. HH are 3 of the most rockin sounds to check out IMO. Danny Frye was cool too (RIP Danny!).

Lots of great ones use 'em.

it's a gretsch thang, man, you get it or you don't

play one with filtertrons in it, be amazed at how light, fast, and all-its-own it is.

or listen to some setzer, umm, hell bent is a good song, my favorite one at the moment

its not as hot as a white falcon

I think this model would look better if it had the Thumbnail inlays at the tops of the frets instead of the blocks but its a sweet looking guiatr anyway.

theres plenty of other gretsches that fit that description, bro

and luckily i have one of the 3 killer gretsch dealers in my town, and another one is only a couple hours away

I'm not so lucky. With Guitar center like 30-45 mins away (dependes on traffic) and they only carry like 4 Gretschs at a time.

I might be getting a cheap Semi/ hollow body on friday, either an artcore or an epi Dot. If I do i'm deffinately gonna get some Tv trons for it or get a set of 59's or something rewond by the SD custom shop for a gretsch sound. Thats would make me happy for a while.
