i used a callaham left handed vintage tele bridge with right handed saddles and right handed lip cutback, amazing bridge

I was looking at those. I like the Hipshot variant also, and they're close to the same price.

hipshot looks good, and you can top load or thru body, which is a nice option. dont think the callaham can be top loaded, thought that bridge is a work of art

I think that Callaham leans toward "vintage", in general. (Which is cool.) Mine will definitely be a "modern" Tele. Especially after I get my wiring scheme in it.

callaham does lean vintage, but also uses different materials than many other manufacturers. its well machined from good stock but nothing too far from the best of what was made years ago

They used to be big on the cryo treatment process, but I don't see them mentioning it anymore. I guess they decided that it wasn't all it was "cracked up" to be. ;)

It's always seemed preferable to me: warm up the top strings and make the bottom ones twangier.

Only model I recall having it, though, was the Hendrix sig. Maybe there have been others.

I concur, I like the enhanced clarity of the lowest notes, and the (slight) ‘rounding’ of the upper range of notes.

Not terribly different IME. I hear it when I listen intently for it, and I don't when I just play.

Can't imagine it does anything to twang-up the low strings.

In my experience, in my low tuning, the coil’s position being closer to the bridge very nicely subdues the fundamental of the notes in relation to the overtones, and enhances the ‘steeliness’ of the lower range.

Personal preference, but I really like it.

That’s how I do it. I also like P bases with the pickup reversed. It sounds more even across the strings.

(Yes, there’s no pickups in the guitar. )
