do they exist?? my charvel model 2 bass tone pot seems to have an opposite effect. Seems like most tone pots start deeper and brighten as you roll em on. This one seems opposite.. ??

Re: reverse tone pots?

You should be able to do that with any pot. It just depends on which of the outer terminals you wire up to.

Re: reverse tone pots?

Do you have the active circuitry in it? One pot is for Volume, one for Bass Cut/Boost, the other for Treble Cut/Boost. There should be no Tone pot.

Re: reverse tone pots?

no, just have volume neck/ volume bridge and tone. guitar has been upgraded with dimarzio pups prior to my getting it and no active circuitry. so perhaps pot is wired wrong as Chris of Arabia pointed out. Didnt think about that, so thanks. Its prolly not a big deal as it almost seems to work out better, its just that its different from every other guit IVe played so it was messing with my mind. haha

Re: reverse tone pots?

All you have to do to make it work in the normal fashion is to reverse the two wires (in and out) where they connect to the pot. It should be a very easy fix.

Well, leave the one on the center lug alone and only move the outside wire to the outside lug that is on the opposite side. Swapping the in/out wires on the same two lugs won't change the rotation behavior.

Re: reverse tone pots?

A pic of your actual wiring would help.

The conventional wiring would be the same as for a regular Jazz Bass. If the output cables from the three pots are on the wrong terminals, the capacitor could be acting in parallel with the output signal. This is kinda what the Bass Cut slider switch does on a Fender Jaguar guitar.
