I got my set last week and have been using them during jazz band. These things are great! I got the little blue Hearos that MF sells for $5. 27db of reduction. I'm still getting used to knowing what dynamic I'm actually playing at, but these things are incredible. Everything is balanced exactly as it is without them in, just quieter. No noticeable frequency dropouts, everything is still clear.
These things are cheap and totally worth $5! Plus they're washable, so as long as you don't feed them to your dog they should last (virtually) forever!
