Revolutionary Guitar Survey - please help

Re: Revolutionary Guitar Survey - please help

Web Misstress Kellie I like the sound of that. :naughty: :32:

Survey taken

Re: Revolutionary Guitar Survey - please help

If this thing can go between standard tuning and all strings one whole step down, I'd be sold!

'What does the Performer system cost?

The installation price for the tuning system in a Les Paul or Telecaster style guitar is $3,399. The Stratocaster style guitar requires additional work and is priced at $3,899. Contact the company for additional information."

I've known about the Transperformance system for a while, but their prices are horrendous. Even if it does what it says it does fully, I should be paying $2000 for the mod, not $4000. This leaves only the extreme elite to purchase one (such as Jimmy Page).

If another company can go out there and do something similar for much cheaper, they'll definitely have my money in an instant, you can bet on that.

I said I'd be interested if it cost $50 or less. :laugh2:
I've got five guitars for five different tunings.

Re: Revolutionary Guitar Survey - please help

did it.

Is anyone here familiar with Micheal Mannring (a solo bass player). He mentioned something like this in his movie....

Re: Revolutionary Guitar Survey - please help

Done. And I hope you can cover all bases of guitar formats.

New Nationals cost up to $5000 in Australia so 3 tunings can cost BIG! I'm going for a play on the local Donmo's, roughly half the price and can be ordered with custom etchings/cutaways/side ports and PUP's. They've got one on their site, www.donmo.com, that has a very tasty R.Johnson on the back. Gives you a very warm Delta feeling.

More power to you!

Took the survey. Sounds like they are making something like the Hipshot Trilogy.

I think the Hipshot uses a different approach. The survey sounds like a system which automatically tunes the guitar for a specific tuning. With the Hipshot you still have to tune yourself, but can swap between 3 different tunings.

BTW: automatically tuning the guitar (= recognise the key, then turn the tuner until it matches the pre-defined key) works quite weill. A acquaintance built such a guitar as school project.

Would be great to have such an axe

Re: Revolutionary Guitar Survey - please help

I think they may be a bit late in what they are trying as Trev Wilkinson (British hardware designer, yes he designed the trem of the same name) was featured in Guitarist magazine this month, and it mentioned he has designed an auto tuning bridge which looked like it would fit a standard strat style rout, unlike the performer system! It should be released later this year.

Re: Revolutionary Guitar Survey - please help

If you get a chance to see Jimmy Page and Robert Plant's DVD "NO Quarter Unledded" Jimmy uses a Les Paul with the Performer on Kashmir.

Re: Revolutionary Guitar Survey - please help

Done.

Cool idea, but don't you DARE fit one to a Les Paul :nono: :D
