REVSTAR Tripleshot problems?

Really want to put a P-rail/ Tripleshot ring in my Yamaha Revstar but the deck is slanted. See photos. There's an earlier thread on this. Says no problem but looking like the wedging in the sides of the ring is going to make it a no-go . Anybody have any experience with this? Any suggestions other than sanding it down and hoping it will match? Am I SOL?

The arched version won't work here because the arched version doesn't just taper, it is also recut in the middle to accommodate the arched top.

The T.S. would need triple shots that are tapered but also flat. And I don't see that existing.

Well, there ya ho. Orpheo would know this, he's built a lot of LPs.

I hear ya, Orpheo- so basically, I'm SOL . Unless there's a way to sand down a taper on the rings. A really careful belt sander? it's risky- lot's of potential for asymmetric and excessive removal...and wrong angle. SO- forget the Tripleshot- would have to drill and install dpdt switches and/or push/pull pots . Anyone w wiring ideas??

it does seem like a missed opportunity for duncan to not have lp type triple shots

they only come in thin flat or neck/bridge arched. youd want a bridge version of the flat to get the angle, the thin flat is too shallow. i got around this by using the ball ends from strings to use as a shim for the bridge pup

Yeah, I was thinking that flat ones could use some kind of shaped shim underneath. I suppose if you are a good woodworker, you could make slanted 'platforms' for the flat ones to sit on.

flat top, like a jr is what i was referring to sorry. or my washburn, or this thing, but yeah, i could have been more clear.

You could use 2 low&flat tripleshots and stack them on top of flat&angled rings, but only if the dimensions are exactly the same.

A little off topic, but that's one of my favorite guitars.. look forward to hearing If a Prail is as great there as I would imagine.
