I think Les used his Signature Gibson strings on his guitar. I seem to recall that he used a standard shape pick ala a Fender 351, and I think in a medium gauge, probably Gibson branded. Certainly nothing fancy, maybe a Herco nylon. Can't remember.

It's been a long time, I think GP Magazine did an interview with Les in the late '90s that discussed his gear. I'd email them.
