Rex Brown PJ System

Question regarding the Rex Brown PJ System: I'm thinking about purchasing this to upgrade the pick ups in my Squire Affinity PJ Bass. I believe this has an active pre-amp...wouldn't that require a battery? And, if yes, wouldn't that require some modification to the bass body to give you access to the battery?

This is an active system, so it needs a battery. You'd have to see if it fits under the pickguard, or route a place for it.
