Re: Rid track turns into Middle eastern inspired metal

Oh snap! That was some badass lead work right there! May I ask what scales you used and in what key? Thank you, sir! :)

Re: Rid track turns into Middle eastern inspired metal

I havent got a clue. i worked out "notes" that seemed to fit, then went hell for leather

Re: Rid track turns into Middle eastern inspired metal

Nice lead work! I think you sound best when you're not thinking about what you're doing...just blazing away. So many of your licks show a lot of maturity in your playing, which means you'll be scarier and scarier as time goes by. Do you sit down with lesson tapes, or do you cop a lot of those chops of your favorite CD's?

Re: Rid track turns into Middle eastern inspired metal

by the looks of it it sounded like you were playng G harmonic minor

and yes....

..it was badassa!!

Yeah, that Middle Eastern sound is the definite result of harmonic minor.

Re: Rid track turns into Middle eastern inspired metal

You are a tiny god... that's all I have to say. I wish I could play like that!

Re: Rid track turns into Middle eastern inspired metal

As always... you never fail to pi**me off!! :) :)

Great work, your chops improve every time I hear something new from you. Keep up the hard work!

I don't have any lesson tapes or anything like that.

I haven't had a guitar lesson in about two months because my teachers been on tour lol

I don't learn other people's solo's deliberately, because i dont want to sound like them and be a lick theif, so if i sound like someone else its not intentional

What i usually do is write a riff or get a backing track and wail away and try to think in the style of the backing track, i'll either just go for it or try and work out a solo to it but most of the time i just improvise for the fun of it

thanks for the compliments guys :)

Re: Rid track turns into Middle eastern inspired metal

that backing track is from samurai jack >.< fuggin awesome!

ok, since i got enough of your wailing ;) i'll comment on the technique. did you do the rythm guitars also? they got a good feel, and sound convincing enough to be middle eastern , but you could've concentrated on the diminished minor scales more for the lead. give it more an arabic feel to it, it sounds cool, but yours doesnt quite 'fit' into the song if you get me meaning.
overall, the sound is great, a lil bit fuzzy but in this case it gives it a good feel

the lead guitar could be a little louder too.

TO if you read this, next batch of backing track please =)
i want to try myself on this one
