how are yah?
my second band, Rest in Disgrace(RID) (www.myspace.com/restindisgrace)
is finishing our first demo, called "Vanity.. The Shinning Path"

and this is entirely recorded with a Schecter She Devil loaded with a set of Duncan Designed Hb 105 , blackouts copy. both actives, of course.

all rhythms with the bridge pickup. all leads and fillers with the Neck pickup.

Heres a total improvised take i did on the Solo for our song, The Veil Of Maya.

we are delaying our demo because the guitar in question. it has some problems and needs an urgent set up and new strings that we are not being able to find.

I gotta tell ya, I'm not a big death metal guy but I really like your playing and overall sound. I used to work on and customize some amps for Karl Sanders of Nile. Don't know if you're familiar with them, but your stuff reminds me a bit of them - especially the vocals.

Yah, i do not agree with the Nile comparison, i know them very well, and they have a more tech and brutal sound them US, and their EQ patterns are WAY different. BUT, tere are similarities.
we kinda have our own identity, I BELIEVE, but we do have some similarities with Carcass(heartwork and swansong cds), Iron Maiden(dual melodies. thansk to our bassist, a maiden FAN himself. NOT ME), Samael, Old katatonia, Old Anathema, and October Tide.

we are preparing our first one now.
10/12 songs.

Well, metal light is popular here. Bands like Metallica, albums like The Black Album. Actually I think they're pretty popular in general but not a lot of big metal acts these days. Mostly POP and HipHop sadly.

the lyrics are pretty awesome! I can relate to that. everything sounds pretty professional. I dont know much about this style of music and singing but the guitars are pretty fantastic - great playing! pretty tasteful riffage. I like the low growl vocals more than the high Thyresis vocals - Thyresis vocals are black metal vocals?

man, the vocals recorded in thyresis demo, are blackmetal. the vocalist is higly influenced.. and so am i.
but now, the bassist is singing and playing, cause the former vocalist moved from our city to Rio de janeiro
and, hes the vocalist , studio, for RID. hes on vacation here in our city right now and he just finished the vocals. ahahah expect some more BM, in a higher and also medium/lowest pitch.
that vocalist on the myspace track ASCENDANCE, is a friend of us, frmo Soturnus band. a friend band here from our city. he sang on that track to help put it up on myspace and show the world that we are alive.. cause Kain, the actual vocalist was in Rio that time.
he just arrived in decemebr, 20.

way cool! I really like RID's sound with the low note growls and slower more deliberate guitar playing. Awesome demo, I cant wait to hear more RID demos!

Hey - you definitely don't sound like Nile instrumentally - Just the low vocals on that tune reminded me of them I haven't seen them in years and haven't really listened to anything since their earlier stuff - but I know they are BRUTAL for sure! Nevertheless, you definitely have your own identity and it's *very* good. Both bands are just absolutely kick ass - I hope you can get to the states and do some dates at some point...
