Ok I have two amps at my disposal.
One is my Ashdown Fallen Angel 60w head (through a Marshall 2X12)
The other is a Rivera
Now there shouldn't be any compettion on this. The rivera should just win.
But I just can't come to terms with the Rivera in high gain mode, or even mid gain. It just has too much of a fizzy edge.
The Ashdown just does a much smoother over drive, all I would say is that a bit more gain would be nice.
Now since I changed the magnet in the neck pup on my explorer I've been loving the it through the clean channel on the Rivera, it just sounds so good, but through the Ashdown it just doesn't work clean, it's very lifeless.
So all I need to do is chop the clean channel from the Rivera into the Ashdown, if it was that simple
And no, I can't just use both amps and an a/b switch as I'm not allowed to gig the Rivera as it's not technically mine.
