I just saw the Rob Zombie show at the Norva in Norfolk VA. It was really really good! The sound was so tight and clear, John 5 is freakin great! My question is how to some bands sound so tight and clear while others are a pile of mush? Any tricks? There was no sound from the guitar unless he played, maybe he used a noise gate? Great great show. No ear fatigue or anything! It was so clear!

Re: Rob Zombie Show!!!!

With a live band, it's all about good equipment, a tight band, a good sounding room, and a good sound guy.

Did John play non-Rob Zombie stuff? I listened to Educated Horses a few weeks ago, and thought it was just pathetic considering what the guy is capable of.

Re: Rob Zombie Show!!!!

I saw Rob Zombie about ten years ago...and his crew made a huge and notoriously awful sounding sheet metal building, sound tight!

For those interested, it was So Cal's Orange Pavillion in San Bernardino, CA.

Re: Rob Zombie Show!!!!

John had a solo spot midway through thunderkiss. The dude is just plain sick. While I agree that Robs songs are easy to play... especially for John, John made up for it with his on stage performance. The whole band was just spectacular! Everyone up there was having a great time, and John was swingin the guitar around his neck, doing windmills looking at rob and playing with one hand while making the sleepy gesture with the other and laughin gettin the whole crowd goin. He also threw in little licks here and there, the guy is just insane!
