rock/blues sound

I just recently ordered a ts9 modded to 808 tube screamer from Analogman.
I currently have a Boss Equalizer. Has anyone ever used an EQ with a tubescreamer? Should I keep the tubescreamer by itself. I'm looking for the right tone. I'm in search of the rock/blues sound that I've always wanted.

Different equipment combos will yield differnt tone. Also depends on your guitar & amp. Best advice I can give is experiment and have fun with the search for tone.

I have an original ts808 and was trying to get the SRV tone.

So, I plugged in my 3 bucker Electra Flying V copy into the 808 and right into the Gorilla amp and HUH?@! NO SRV tone?

What the hell what did I do wrong?

I don't think SRV used Gorilla Amps :laugh2: HAving a 59 Strat is going to help. Using heavier strings is going to help also. Oh Yeah and a lifetime of playing your ass off
