Rockbox Boiling Point Demo

I recently picked up a Rockbox Boiling Point pedal, just to see what all of the fuss is about. Not bad. It won't be pushing either of the Landgraffs off my board, but it's got a nice rock growl to it, especially in conjunction with the SSL-5 in the bridge of my Strat. Sounds like this, running into the Ulbrick Venue 30, running clean @ home levels...

Yeah, it's an interesting pedal for sure. Certainly not cheap, and to be honest, I'm not as impressed with it on the lower output single coils (SSL-1) in my Strat. It gets a bit too glassy on those pickups. But there's something about how it works with the SSL-5 that I really like, and it would only get better with more output level at the amp. It actually has the edge over my two Landgraffs (DO and Mo'D) on that bridge pickup, but the Landys are sweeter with the SSL-1s. I'll keep it for what it does with the bridge pickup, it's a pretty handy sound to have for recording and for my classic rock project when I put that back together.
