Rocktron Banshee talkbox issue....

Ok, I saw one of these banshee talkboxes on craigslist...and i am not sure if its working right for me, or i should say if the guy sold me a broken one.

Do I need to mic the tube? or should there be noise coming out of my amplifier?

When I read about it it says plug and play, just put it in your pedal chain, but am I missreading something and it really needs to be miced?

If someone could let me know that would be awesome,.

Oh yeah, it switches from my guitar amp, playing normal, to generating noise in the box itself but cutting out the signal to the amp completely when I turn it on.

You have to put the tube in your mouth, and mic your mouth.
