Rocktron Utopia VS PODXT Live

I've got a Rocktron Utopia pedal, and it's one of the best sounding pieces of equipment I've heard, but it doesn't have a USB port. I can't upload/download patches or record to PC. Plus, there's no built-in tuner or drum machine. The sound is very good, very warm.

The PODXT Live seems like a real kick-ass piece of hardware, but I'm not experienced in using it live or for recording. I've heard the POD before and it sounds real sweet from what I was able to hear while demoing it.

What are your thoughts? Should I trade in and get the PODXT?

I've never played the Utopia so I can't give you my opinion on it versus the XT Live. I do have an XT Live though and I love it. It's a great piece of gear with a lot of options. Some of the patches are hit and miss. You'll no doubt find yourself being drawn to a specific amp/cab combo, but it can be different for everyone.

Personally I love the XT Live.

Well i think both are great devices in different ways.The PODXt Live isfar more complex and tweakable ,and has great tones.It's expandable too ,and LINE6 allways tries to make upgrades possible on heir equipment.OTOH ,the Utopia sounds really good ,it's smaller and has really great library.You really have to compare the sounds.The POD is great for direct recording ,but any experienced ear hears it in the very first moment too.Utopia sounds more authentic to my ears.But what with the new Vox Tonelab LE.I think that thing is the new king.
BTW ,the Utopia has the best Recto tone i ever heard!

Yeah, I agree. The Utopia is one of the finest sounding effects pedals ever. The recto, thrash, and the UK are my favorites.

I'm just really disappointed that there's no USB. I'm bothered by it so much that despite the unbelieveably good tone Rocktron offers, I can't do without it.

I'm just hoping the XT Live sounds as good at least on a few distortions and clean channels because that's what I use the most anyway.

Does anyone have any clips of the XT???

Yeah but don't forget that the Utopia is "not" a modeller ,therefore it's not that necesarry to have USB.Midi would be great THO!It's a great piece of gear,and i think it's a fair competition.The did the classical "rack" style four channel stuff ,and the Effect tweaking is awesome!
