rofl, watch Zakk Wylde play a Marshall MG15 mini stack

Re: rofl, watch Zakk Wylde play a Marshall MG15 mini stack

Not impressed with that playing, sadly.

Hopefuly things start to get better for him.

Re: rofl, watch Zakk Wylde play a Marshall MG15 mini stack

I wasn't too impressed with his playing here. I've heard MUCH better from him in the past. The tone... it's ok - better than my Marshall MG50, but nothing to write home about. I think Jeff got it right - don't forget it's a $250 practice/novelty amp. For what it is, it's probably not bad.

I actually liked the guitar though - I would play that in a heartbeat.

i was just asking ! why dont you sell one in order to get a cab ? i would prefer to have a ministack than to have just a head with no sound!

Actually I wouldn't, I would prefer to do it like I am.. I already have a practice amp, so why would I sell one to get a cab instead of saving up for a cab, and keep both? ;)

Re: rofl, watch Zakk Wylde play a Marshall MG15 mini stack

i'd love to have a wall of those on stage with my real amps hidden behind them or off stage LOL.

Re: rofl, watch Zakk Wylde play a Marshall MG15 mini stack

Guitarist from my old band bought one of those, and I thought to myself, ahh crap, what a waste of money... then he turned it on, and considering where my expectations were sitting, I was quite impressed. It's that rarest of things, a novelty item that can actually deliver something worthwhile - that is to say, it's worth what it says on the sticker, which is not generally the case in that class of amp.

Re: rofl, watch Zakk Wylde play a Marshall MG15 mini stack

that was pretty pathetic. sorry to any fans out there.

i never liked the guys playing but it looks like the poor guy got caught in the stardom meat grinder.

that sucks.

my question is that what the heck was Marshall thinking when the put this out??!!! some Marketing dept. they have. "we will give the Grizzly Adams gone bad look, playing guitar that should boost sales!"

what the heck??

Re: rofl, watch Zakk Wylde play a Marshall MG15 mini stack

Sorry--between Metal and Skullkrusher's avatars I lost my train of thought.

Here's to you guys.

Zakk Wylde is overdoing everything...hair, beard, muscles, beer, notes, pinch harmonics, beer, pinch harmonics, spitting, alchohol, leather vests, pinch harmonics, custom guitars, notes, beer, spitting, pinch harmonics, notes, leather....okay, so he's not the most complicated guy.

Bwahaha...:laugh2:

Zakk is a piece of work, thats for sure....Lot different looking/acting now than that RR look-alike everyone thought he was when he replaced Jake. Sadly that was his best moment.

He's not aged well...in any aspect.

Man, you said it!

Re: rofl, watch Zakk Wylde play a Marshall MG15 mini stack

dunno what to say but that was dull. Also im not sure what to think about the guitar. Vs are cool, SGs are cool, SGV? Dont like the mix

Re: rofl, watch Zakk Wylde play a Marshall MG15 mini stack

So to summarize:

The Cursing Mountain Man/Biker schtick is waaay old

The amp is only $236, so back off

His playing was sub-par, per his abilities

Re: rofl, watch Zakk Wylde play a Marshall MG15 mini stack

tone sucked, playing was drunktacular, and the guitar is a one-off custom that dime ordered for him, it's called the 'muddy bullseye' IIRC

Oh yeah, it's a funny video alright. Get real. He's playing through a freakin' micro stack. And if my memory serves me right, this is the 3rd micro stack Marshall has had in the last 20 years or so. So get off it.

Sure his playing was probably sub-par to what we're used to. It's just a freakin demo video and the stuff he did in that video runs circles around what most of us can do anyway. If you can play better, please continue. Otherwise, shut it.

He's not drunk. If he was, you'd know it. I've seen him on video when he's drunk. That is not it.

You can tell he's from Jersey, though. The accent is really thick.

Those little stacks have surpisingly good tone for what they are. Unless you've played one, you cannot knock it because it's an MG.

I wasn't even talking about the tone.

Someone else already said it, but yeah...totally UN-musical.

He needs to get his money back for his make-over.

I think the before pic is better:
