ROHREN VON WELTRUF - Tubes

Has anyone heard of these tubes?

I purchased some NOS ECC83 tubes that bear a real close similarity to those being sold as EI ECC83 short plate tubes.

Nothing shows up on internet.

'Rohren von Weltruf' means 'tubes from Weltruf'.

Weltruf (translated it means something like World broadcast - or literally, world call) is an old German tube radio brand from the first half of the 20th century, made by Carl Daberkow of the Deutsche Radio Werke (German Radio Works). I can't seem to find any further info.

'Rohren von weltruf' means 'Valves of world-wide reputation'.

It looks like RSD is the brand, and 'Rohren von weltruf' is their motto.

here's what I got from an audio forum:

"RSD is a rebrander based in Germany, Frankfurt area.
Often very cheap East-German and ex Soviet-Union tubes are offered.

Quality varies as they are mostly concerned with export orders to
"third world" countries on an exchange basis."

haha i never heard anyone using the word "Weltruf" ... it's common to say "guter Ruf" like good reputation .. but

honestly, I was just curious, and got all that info from searching Yahoo ...
the translation of the motto was from the same site that had the box pic

cool stuff. I've been rather enamored with some of the tubes coming out of Mike Matthews Reflektor plant in russia. Anyone digging these 5881's and 12AX7's branded as Tung Sol?
