What do you guys think of this? I'm looking for a board I can take a lid off, lay down, and use. Do the pedals sit on the taller base of the lid area?
Gotta link? I'm too lazy to go hunt for it.![]()
They do give you the internal dimensions... might wanna bust out the tape measure and check your tallest and longest pedal to see if it'll fit. What else is gonna be going in there?
All these will.
I can rearrange a lil if need be. I'll get the pedalbaord outta the car n mesaure it.
Dimentions as compressed as I can get em are..... 22 long with a small amount of wiggle room, 11 wide because of the wah with a very small amoutn of room, Wah toes down at 3 inches high. Sounds perfect for this one.....

Looks like you'll be fine with that choice. Personally I always like a certain amount of extra space for wiggle room and wiring and the occasional "temporary resident" pedal.
Be forewarned... I currently have a Coffin Case BK-110 that's very similar to what you're looking at now. The two things that really bug me are the metal lip on the pedal tray and the felt fabric they line it with. The lip forces me to use right-angle cables where I would rather use straights, and the felt they lined it with just doesn'tgrip velcro very well. I'm currently drawing up plans for a DIY/Home Depot pedalboard and I just got my order of black carpet in from Mojotone for it as well.
I feel the right angle thing. I was smart though and retipped my cables with right angle plugs when I bought them cuz I knew sometime I would need them that way. I'll have about a half inch to an inch of wiggleroom which is good. The felt thing I'll take care of. I have my ways of modding that so velcro will stick.
Good to see you're thinking ahead though... I don't know what the Rondo cases have on them for the pedal tray. I can't imagine why CC used felt... :smack:
I have been looking at this one Case
If you get one of them, let me know how it works out.
The problem is the 11 ¾" is not enough for two rows of Boss pedals if you use a 9 volt power supply. I had to build a shelf for the second row with an overhang that went over the top connections of the bottom row. but if you only have one row and a wah pedal, it should be fine.Maximum interior size: 27" long by 11 ¾" wide by 4 1/4" deep
They use a really wimpy fabric that is barely glued down. It would probably work well if they used more glue. I ended up ripping it out and replacing it with automotive carpet - big mistake. It looks good and holds really well - probably too well. It's really hard to move the pedals without losing all the Velcro off the back.
I have one that's been holding "ok" over the last few years. Not really heavy-duty...screw a van, I wouldn't want to drop it or have my 2x12 smash into it in the trunk of my car. For what I paid it's ok...but I'd get something else the next time around.
Those new Gator bags with the PSU for $100 seem kinda schweet.
In my experience, most gator stuff is the bottom of the barrel junk. Other guys I've run in to that use it say the same. I always ask other players about random equipment so I don't make the mistakes they do.
