Hello all,
I have been reading the forum for a little while now and am impressed with the knowledge level found here, so I have decided to ask everyone for some help.
The problem is this, when I play the the low E the tone is what I would describe as "flabby" and/or excessively "muddy". This problem is not prevalent in the other strings, only the low E. I do not know if it is a problem with the guitar setup, the pickups or the amplifier that I am using. The problem is constant regardless of pickup, bridge or neck, and cords or single notes.
My set up is as follows:
Heritage 157 with abr-1 type bridge, Custom Custom in the bridge and Alnico Pro II in the neck. String height is unchanged from the supplier, Jay Wolfe from Wolfe Guitar. Strings are GHS GBXL .009-.042 round wounds. Got my amp from Jay also, the Heritage Lobo 22, which is basically a Deluxe Reverb and is loded with a Emenence Red Coat Private Jack speaker (1-12).
I play only at home, as I am still a novice player, and I don't have a much experience when it comes to making adjustments. So, what do you think I should do? Any help would be greatly appreciated
