Rosewood Neck (PRS Content)

Tried a PRS McCarty today with a rosewood neck it was a really nice sounding guitar although the tapped sounds were a little disappointing. The thing that surprised me was the feel of the neck which although a little chubby felt a lot better than a SC Hollowbody with the same neck profile I tried last week. (although I think that SCH was a bit dodgy as it had solid dots and not moons)
Anyone else like a rosewood neck? I know Music Man do them are theirs any good?

Never played a MM with a solid rosewood neck (yet) but I owned one of those rosewood-necked McCartys a few years back and the feel of the neck on that thing was just unbelievable. I wish I hadn't sold it.

This did have a great sound better than a SC but I wasn't sold 100% on it. Even though it had a really nice price on it. It was solid black I think if it had been gold or had a top I might have gone for it. Although it needed a good set up and clean.

I played a PRS SC with a RW neck about a year ago. Sounded so good it was scary. The price was reasonable too....under 3K. I just had to pass though as I was not making any money playing electric at the time.

I'm sort of mulling it over at the moment. I doubt it'll go before I could get back there. But it wasn't a 100% straight away yes which probably means it'll be a no.

EBMM rosewood necks are just as nice, assuming you get on with the neck carve. I have four rosewood necked guitars: a BRW Singlecut, an IRW Custom 24, and two Axis Super Sports (one trem, one hard tail).

I got an all rosewood Warmoth Strat neck recently that will be going on my next build. I can't say anything about the sound yet, but it feels amazing.

Looks kinda like THIS one.

Some folks talk like they don't know the difference between a rosewood neck and a rosewood fretboard.

That is because Fender used to call rosewood board guitars rosewood neck guitars. This one was indian rosewood neck with a brazillian cap.
Ronnie Wood has/had a strat with a rosewood neck and maple skunk stripe which looks amazing.

For a while I was obsessed with finding another guitar with a solid rosewood neck. It drove me up the wall to do Ebay searches for "rosewood neck" and keep having to wade through pages of Mexican Telecasters...

he wrote a thread about how she asked a bunch of very detailed questions about his new guitar, including if the neck was rosewood. in jest, T4D led the townsfolk with torches to his doorstep to mock her lack of knowledge about guitar necks, suggesting only fretboards are rosewood.
