My quest for the perfect strat has yet to end.... In the past six weeks, I've gone through a couple Strats...

Fender Classic Players 50's Strat
Fender Classic Series 60's Strat Lacquer
Reverend Six-Gun III
Fender USA Standard FSR

Settled on the FSR as it had a unique 3TSB in a "Mystic" metallic finish with aluminum pickguard and rear control plate. Also has a V neck profile with a rosewood board (first ever for a non-Custom Shop Fender) and compound radius. (Also a first for a non-Deluxe USA model).

But after a month of playing my Reverend and my LP Jr., I am still in love with fatter necks. I found a Warmoth Rosewood neck I can replace the American Standard for basically no cost if I sell the American neck...

Re: Roswood Necks

I love my Warmoth rosewood neck. I play one on a LP body but my cousin has a Strat with a rosewood neck and an old bandmate of mine has a Strat with a Warmoth rosewood neck. Rosewood necks feel so smooth and the tone is smooth too. I love them with humbuckers or single coils. I always like to tell players they owe it to themselves to play on a rosewood neck once in their lifetime because they won't want to put it down!

I love a medium profile neck which is not as fat as the "boat" and not as thin as the standard. I order the 59 roundback on all my Warmoth necks.

Re: Roswood Necks

My number 1 strat has a rosewood neck. I love it. The sound is warmer, deeper, and more complex, with great sustain. Works with singles and hummers. It might be too warm with some combinations. Mine's paired with a swamp ash body. You owe it to yourself to try it. If you decide you don't like it, then you can probably trade it without loosing money.

Can you post a pic? What finish is the Swamp Ash? What pickups are in it?

Reason for asking, I have a Swamp Ash H/S Musikraft project in the works (back burner for now) and am intrigued by the Rosewood neck+Swamp Ash combo.

Re: Roswood Necks

Well I went to photobucket and it froze up my computer for 30 minutes. I'll need a new computer before I can operate photobucket anymore. So sorry about that. Anyway its transparent blue with a shell pickguard. HSS with two surfers and and a Dimarzio PAF. Has a six point traditional trem.

It must have been a major malfunction; I see even your Gary Moore avatar got damaged.
