working on a new tune but also trying out different amps on my dnafx git pro. I've been liking this H&K model.

I just grabbed some quick drums, I don't like how they sound but they kept a beat

I ended up on a weird tuning - the whole guitar is in e flat, but then I dropped the low e flat string to d, it just seemed to work for the riffs

I wanted to spend some time compressing just the low end but ran out of time. I’m also wanting to try and mic a cab using the modeled amp through tube power. That might change the high end to become clearer. I’m going for a hall of the mountain king inspired tone.

Some speculate the HB is a knock-off of a mooer but I’m not sure (different amp lists). I briefly had an Hotone Ampero 2 that seemed too noisy (returned it) and I tested a headrush that I almost bought but I didn’t like the noise gate. Almost went the line 6 route but chose an open box at a decent price at thomann

I’d say the HB is close to the headrush, which had some killer amp tones IMO.

Well I’ll be d@med. If it’s quiter and does 4 cable hookup, I may very well be sold.

I can’t speak of its live-use capabilities. I just dial in one amp at a time and use it as a desktop unit. You may want to do some research on that. I think they only updated the firmware once as well, whereas some companies are better about keeping updates coming.

Given its age and how quickly things change, it’s probably already outdated. Many units tone capture now which I think would be super handy. This one can’t do that.
