ROUGH MIX of a new solo clip ...

This is a trade-off solo that will be appearing on my upcoming album. The song is called UNDER THE BLACK FLAG.

It's divided into 4 sections. I play the 1st and 3rd section, and the Greg plays the 2nd and 4th. You can really hear the differences in our styles in this solo.

Haha Ben spare the "Am I that bad?" comments, those comments are becoming such a cliche, and you know you're a guitar monster! At least I think you are anyway :thumbsup:

It's a bloddy ripper (bunch of solos) man, so no comments on playing besides sheer brilliance, but you need to turn your guitars up! Not loud enough IMO.

Hehe, thanx Bee -- truth is, my playing isn't everyone's cup 'o tea, and I really don't consider myself a shredder, more of a fire-spitting melodic player, like Lynch or DeMartini ... and how can I forget one of my biggest incfluences, Limozeen?!!

The first part kinda reminds me of maiden, and the tap section (I presume it's tapped?) is awesome.

The other guy seems a lot more of a technical player with that long picked run at the end, but it all fits.

The last note on the 1st section and the 3rd section is tapped. I took a layer of skin off of my finger doing the tap-slides!

Outstanding work of course TO... noone can say anything bad about it. Some parts are merely speed to my hear, not my personal preference. You've always been great at speed+melody. You and Greg have speed I won't touch in a million year. I personnally like when the melodic content is a little stronger. But hey, don't even bother, I'm probably not your target audience anyway. I'm just a fan of your amazing playing

Despite the fact I say I'm not your target audience, if you put out an album, you can be sure I'll buy it. You've always been generous enough to share your knowledge and music with us hobbyist... this is super cool TO.

Thanx, Inter! Actually, on that solo, I used my Wayne Rock Legend with a JB in the bridge. I'm going to post another solo now that was tracked with my Jem.

There's a cool technique behind that note. What I did was play a pinch harmonic, and bent the string a whole step. Then I bring my right hand down and tap the note one 8ve higher. I keep both hands on the fingerboard, and use my left hand (lower note) to bend the pitch back and add the vibrato.

NiiiiiCE!! I dug it greatly. You're bandmate has impeccable accuracy and clarity. His playing almost has that flanger effect going by the way he sequenced his triplets. And I liked the two-hand stuff... sound like you're fixing to blow up at the end.
