Routing my pedals through NS-2

Hi, I've got a BOSS NS-2 which has just been a godsend when it comes to noise reduction! But lately I've been hearing Leader and other guys talking about running pedals through the loop of the pedal for better performance. I've been wondering about trying this and seeing if I can get the most out of my NS-2. For those of you that don't have one, a picture can be found here: http://www.guitargrave.com/boss/images/NS-2.jpg

Ok, I run the following chain

Front: Guitar>Crybaby wah> Boss CH-1 super chorus> NS-2>Amp
Loop: Boss GE-7 Equalizer

I tried the NS-2 both infront of theamp and in the loop and I found it had the best results being infront of the amp. Now, to take advantage of the loop in the pedal, what would be the best way to route this? Keep in mind I would like to keep it infront of the amp. Thanks!

Re: Routing my pedals through NS-2

I used to do this back when I was playing stomps and it did wonders for feedback elimination and noise in general, however, the price you pay is sustain. You can however, dial in a threshold and decay to cope with it. If you don't play anything that requires softer dynamics, you probably won't feel any pain from it.

Cool think about it, is if you put any tuner in the loop and set the ns-2 to mute, you get silent tuning out of the deal.

Re: Routing my pedals through NS-2

I use the loop and it works great, i don't hear much difference/apart from getting rid of feedback) since none of my pedals are really noise-intensive, but using the loop is the way boss recommends using the NS-2 and i guess they have thought about that and didn't put the loop on there for fun

Re: Routing my pedals through NS-2

So I should go:

Guitar> input of NS-2
output of NS-2> amp

then have the Send run through all my pedals then back into the return? And just leave my GE-7 as is, correct?

Re: Routing my pedals through NS-2

Also not all pedals should go in the loop. If you can find the manual or download the ffects guide from the boss homepage there's what they recommend not to put in the loop. But IIRC it was time-based effects

Delays and Verbs should come after the loop.
