Runnin' With The Aceman

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
So...now I did this!

Again - rush job just taking a draft at it. Played the rhythm track, punched in the harmonics and solos. Should probably relearn those! Been a while. Need to work on setting levels a bit.

Tell me all about:
General sound of the track
Guitar tone
Anything else!

Very exciting times we are living in!!!!!

Edit: Levels adjusted

Re: Runnin' With The Aceman

The guitar is too loud and is masking the rest of the instruments. There is a level or EQ issue going on there, possibly both.

Re: Runnin' With The Aceman

Well played..does'nt sound bad to me at all (I like loud guitars) :bigthumb:

Tone isn't quite there like LLL's usually is, but it's more than usable & sounds pretty decent. Not a bad mix overall either. I mean, it's much better than I could do for years & I still suck haha. You're off to a good start :D

Re: Runnin' With The Aceman

Hey - I just went with preset #5, it was pretty ok. "Brown Sound"

Les Paul with Super D; Could have used a Strat w/ a Custom Custom.

I also could have recorded hard left/right dry-wet with the reverb....not that deep into the outboard stuff yet. Just excited to have figured it out!

Guitar>fx>G-band.

Instead of hard left and right, try 2/3 to 3/4 left and right.

Re: Runnin' With The Aceman

I am officially STOKED!

Not a bad rendition for not having played it in forever....winging the solo pretty much.

Re: Runnin' With The Aceman

I love the seething thickness of the guitar tone.

Good on you for getting into the recording game, so much fun right?

Agree with the panning idea, the more you move them around, the different they sound together, from almost chorus at times to a morphed sound.
Also if you want a wide effect, try nudging one guitar left or right just ever so slightly. Find a width you like.

Overall I really like it.

Re: Runnin' With The Aceman

Guitar sounds like a SS pedal, but not that bad. Little dark maybe. Kind of hard to tell what the other parts are: VH outtakes, "LA Trax", or Aceman at his finest.

But someone remind me to come back to this thread in a year for the answer.

Re: Runnin' With The Aceman

I liked it. But what stood out to me was the background vocals. They sounded great.

Re: Runnin' With The Aceman

The singer and background vocals sound great. Guitar is a little thick but it works. The vibe is there.

Re: Runnin' With The Aceman

Guitar sounds like a SS pedal, but not that ba.

Because it was. Zoom G3N.

I'm just thrilled to be able to get a guitar or bass from reality into Garage Band. That was my biggest hassle. Now I'm making off the cuff demos and crap for the band all over.
