S.D. Custom 5 vs. Bare Knuckle Miracle Man

Hey guys I am new so please bare with me! The issue I'm having is between the Seymour Duncan Custom Five and a Bare knuckles Miracle Man. The description of the Miracle man is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for in a bridge pickup. "Surgically tight bass, huge lo-mids and smooth upper mid response produce an accented hi-end with a thoroughly percussive feel. Combined with a more compressed dynamic, single note definition is extremely articulate with masses of sustain when required." The problem is that I am a Seymour Duncan loyalist. That being said the Custom Five seems to be closest thing Seymour Duncan has to offer in similarity. Now at this point I can understand why you would just say "Just go with the Miracle Man." , but the Miracle Man being at $170 and the Custom Five being at $90 I feel that I could just get a custom Seymour Duncan for $150 and have it be exactly what I want. Has anyone tried both of them? Any thoughts are very welcome!

Standard Custom seems closer to that description than the Custom 5. A bit will depend on the guitar you are putting it in, of course.

The Custom 5 has less mids than the ceramic, it's high end is a bit more emphasized but it doesn't have quite as hard a bite.

The BKP is likely to be higher output, if that matters.

Bare Knuckles are VERY different pickups to Seymours. Check out the forom for soundclips and opinions.

You'll be better off explaining what kind of sound/vibe you're looking for and you'll be guided by many experienced players/tinkers to get you as close as you can get to the request.

Many of us just get the closest p'up to the desired sound/vibe and fine-tune it to the guitar and the rig swapping magnets.

the dimebucker or duncan distortion is closer to the miracle man than the custom 5 (on paper)
if you're in the US i'd definitely try SD first. they have that exchange thing.

the MM is a cross between the duncan sh-5 custom and the duncan distortion

Maybe I should try putting a alnico 5 in a Duncan Distortion? it's kinda funny because my most favored pickup that I've tried is a Duncan Distortion only reinforcing that this could work! :]

I've used the Miracle Man, Custom 5 (Hated it) and the standard Custom and none of them are alike at all as all are different magnets for starters.

The Distortion may be similar to the Miracle Man on paper but it isn't anywhere near as bright as the Distortion, to my ears atleast. The Miracle Man is also a lot clearer than any of the other pickups you've mentioned.
