Hello guys i have a fender ritchie blackmore at S-H-S with :

1)Seymour Duncan® Quarter Pound Flat™ SSL-4 Single-Coil Strat®(neck) - [single coil 1]
2)Reverse Wound/Reverse Polarity Seymour Duncan® Quarter Pound Flat™ SSL-4 Single-Coil Strat®(bridge) - [single coil 2]
3)Seymour Duncan STK-S4M RV/RP BLK(middle) - [humbucker]

and a 5-way-switch with the configuration*:
1)H
2)H-s1
3)s1
4)s1-s2
5)s2

The guitar has 2 TONES, where s1 goes to tone2(s1->tone2) and H goes to tone1(H->tone1) whereas s2 isn't affected by tone1,2.for instance when i am at position 5 with the s2 alone, turning the tone knobs doesn't affect the sound at all.

My question is, can I make the s2 go to tone 1(s2->tone1!!!!!), replacing the middle humbucker, leaving it free of tone, but without changing the 5-way-switch configuration?

Thank you in advance.

*H=humbucker, s1=neck single coil, s2=bridge single coil.

Re: S-H-S

welcome to the forum!

move the wire connected to the tone control from middle pup to the neck pup at the switch. should be very simple.

Re: S-H-S

hello jeremy and thank you for the fast response. can you please give me more details on how to do this?

Re: S-H-S

Alternatively, add a short jumper connection wire between the selector switch terminal that feeds the signal to the lower tone control and the unused switch terminal right next to it. This will allow the lower tone control to operate on switch positions 1 to 4.

The stock wiring reflects the fact that Blackmore almost only ever uses the neck and bridge pickups.

Re: S-H-S

if you look at the five way switch you will see a wire going to each tone control. you will also see a hot wire from each pup going to the switch.

find the wire from the switch thats going to the tone control you want to move and switch it to the contact on the switch for the pup you want the tone control active on
