S1 Strat Split - Why did the PO do this?

Ignore the crazy double-volume-ness, about to undo that. So if the below pic is not decipherable:

-Green = Hot
-Red = Ground
-B/W = S1 Switch

FYI, stock wiring is the reverse of the above: Red is normally hot, green is ground; black and white still tie together.

At present (barring a large mis-interpretation on my part) the S1 switch turns on the green & white (top) coil - which allows RWRP hum canceling in the notch position, when that pickup is split. If I re-arrange the wiring back to 'stock' (where hot/ground are reversed,) then will I wind up splitting the bottom (red/black) coil and not get hum-canceling with the middle pickup when split?

To condense the question - Will I still have the top coil of the above pickup active when split, if I ground the green and attach red to hot (due to weird OCD?)
