probably. Most ICs are engineered to take 15 volts if designed to "run" at under 12.
I personally actually found it a tonal improvement when I ran my DOD FX69 on 12 Volts. But then again, that´s a LOOOOONG time ago, I´d prolly hate it today...
The pedal is designed to run on 9 volts give or take about 10% either way on the voltages...Will it work on 12 volts? Sure....Is it safe,I wouldn't think it would be if you wanted long term reliability from your pedal....Invest in the Boss PSA 120 or something filtered and comperable...Why screw up a perfectly working pedal? :smack:
I'm not trying to sound like a smart A$$ but if the pedal was made to run on 12 volts,it would have a 12 volt ac input and use a 12 volt battery? Right?
The pedal is designed as a 9 volt unit though,so why exceed the 9 volt rating and risk screwing it up..If and when the pedal goes bad,your first thought is going to be "Gee wonder if running it at 12 volts screwed the pedal up"? :smack: Am I right on this?
Scott....My very first TS9 that I bought in 83 had this happen to it....Wrong adapter trying to save myself some money....Poof goes the power supply...The pedal was fixed under warranty,but I was without my brand new TS9 for a little while...Live and learn...It's just not worth it! :wink:

Ditto here, what's really strange is the SD-1's are made to run off the ACA-120 (or voltage of your country whereever the user is) ... which is and unregulated, and sparsely filtered (if at all) bare bones ac to dc adaptor. Now this is probably just a throw back to the time in which itwas first made (as the PSA series hadn't come out back then) ... I think most ACA'a are rated at like 9 V dc/300mA ... but the PSA'a are rated at like 9.6 V dc/200mA ...
Considering that the SD-1 only draws about ~6mA, I don't get the reason for them (BOSS) still putting that ACA series adaptor sticker on them? I find this to be a bit odd.
