I'm starting to think that this guy's a load of bs, really.

I started talking to him online. When I mentioned the escrow service, and insisted on using Paypal to send him money, he said Hey, BRB. and signed off. Just like that.

Still hoping that he is legit, since I really want the guitar...
But I don't feel like dealing with fraud sellers.

Oh okay never mind...

I called him up, he picked up immediately. He sounds very honest and he agreed to Paypal. =)

Should I trust paypal and do it?
What can I do with paypal if he doesn't ship the guitar?

You can dispute it with your credit card company and maybe PayPal...I'm not sure because I've never had to file a dispute with them. The authorites can't & won't do anything for you if he take's your dough.

Honestly, the post you made above this one would be enough to scare me off this deal. Ibanez guitars aren't all that rare...if you want an RG770 try Ed Roman or even Ebay...I did a quick search & found this one;

Once the money is sent, that's it- it's in there. The only way a buyer can get money back once they send it is through filing a claim.

How do you know it's his 'real' name & address? Did it all verify on whitepages.com? Have you been to his house? LOL

Not that I'm being overly cautious or anything...but I've seen & heard about people pulling all kinds of scams, including ordering stuff to a neighbors house and waiting to meet the UPS guy out front. I had a friend who years ago bought an Akai MPC2000 from a guy in NYC and my buddy had his real name & address, the MPC was pretty much DOA, beyond resonable repair and there was nothing that could be done about it. It was my friends word against the sellers...bottom line is that he got rooked for over $1K.

If it feels ok and you have no doubts then do it! But if it doesn't feel right...then don't. Better to be safe then sorry,it bums me out when I hear about people getting scammed & ripped off.
