It's been a while since I played my Stepdaughters AM dix tele. Other than the S-1 switch I don't recall being blown away by the PuPs. They where quite .

I liked them with high gain, but clean, they didn't have that bubbly spank that I associate with a good tele pickup set.

YUP. With some gain and the S-1 switch engaged you can get a PAF like crunch. But clean they where kinda bland.
