anybody have any experience with this mic? i need something decent for vox and acoustic guitar, and this is in the right price range. the USB function seems very practical too

Re: samson C01U?

I've got one and it works EXTREEMLY well for voice and accoustic. It's ok for micing amps, but you have to adjust the sensitivity WAY down as it is extreemly sensitive. I've found that it also works very well for micing a whole band by placing it right in the middle of the room. All instuments and amps are reproduced pretty evenly.

Re: samson C01U?

thats exactly what i needed to hear, thanks a lot. ill probably order mine soon

Re: samson C01U?

im diggin it. sounds really good for vocals, not bad for acoustic (though it may not be the best it can because i dont have a mic stand, im just resting the mic on a small opening of my desk drawer so its aimed at and level with the soundhole). i had some trouble at first, it would only record to the left side, but eventually i got it working right (im not sure how i did, i just....did)

overall its easy as hell to use. just plug it in and it installs itself. and the optional software takes 5 minutes to install.

Re: samson C01U?

Mic stands aren't expensive. Go get one. You should have no problems getting good acoustic sound after that.

Agreed, they are inexpensive and indispendable.
