San Dimas copy build: Done !

I am happy as a pig in sh!t. It came out better than I could have expected, especially as my first build.

The alder body is from KNE Guitars (Thanks Mitch) sanded to 1000 grit and finished in Tru-Oil (no stain) then topped with Butcher's Bowling Alley wax. My only concern is that it is a soft finish, but maybe it will just relic faster?

Toneful and versatile as all hell. Wired 50s style (see last picture)

...and please forgive the pre-spring cleanup debris

I am using the solderless pickup connecters I assembled and posted yesterday. Push-pull pot is for tone bypass.

Nice work, man! I like everything about :) Good work on the finish, and that's a nice clean electronics compartment. Man I'm gassing for a strat >.<

Hey, cool! My Frankenstrat has a baby brother...LOL. Seriously, toss a matte pickguard on it with 2 black humbuckers and traditional Strat controls and there you have it. Well, mine's not a hardtail but you get the idea...LOL.

Very nice work. It looks great. What pickup is in there?

Re: San Dimas copy build: Done !

awesome dude, im not a big fan of the shredder looking 1 bucker guitars, but that one is sweet.

as for the finish, if you used something like birchwood casey tru-oil then dont worry about it, i wouldnt call that a soft finish at all. it should have plenty of durability in it

once again, congrats

Re: San Dimas copy build: Done !

Wow . . . the essence of simple & clean. Nice job.

I gotta ask . . . can you hear a difference, with the tone on "10", and you bypass it?

Ah back to that subject. The answer is sometimes -- with gain and mids cranked up.

Cool thing too is with the tone on 1 it comes darn close to a LP neck tone

Re: San Dimas copy build: Done !

That is very beautiful indeed, as stated before beautiful grain, extremely clean work and just a hell of a good vibe.

Congrats man, it's a winner!

Re: San Dimas copy build: Done !

Awesome, this is giving me serious gas to finish my all tru oil superstrat project.

And zebra was the right color choice for the pickup.

Re: San Dimas copy build: Done !

Nice job... very clean control cavity..... I too wanna how much diff does it make when you bypas the tone control.

Re: San Dimas copy build: Done !

who made the neck? I like that axe.... single humbucker hardtail is all i really need and want most of the time

Re: San Dimas copy build: Done !

Sweet. Not my style as it has no points but simple, clean and slick looking. Nice job.

It's a Mighty Mite. I got it from a guy on eBay who also leveled & polished. Very nice
