Sanding tips, Yes or No?

I own an Epiphone Dot, with a Fat Fat neck. Im thinkin in sanding the whole body cause I dont like the finish, and could I sand the neck to get it thinner? Sound is great, so a little surgery would be fine. Ive never sanded a body before, though ive scalloped an acoustic guitar. Any sanding experts here?

I wouldn't do it. Import guitars have a very thick finish that's usually covering a veneer that you may sand through. The neck wood isn't good quality and if you sand it thinner it may warp.
