Saturday NAMM

Here's the picks from my last day at NAMM - I did breakdown and snap some photos of "Celebs" I came across during the day.

Best things I think I saw/heard while there - the new Marshall 18 watt combo (it will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine), the new vox low voltage tube overdrive/distortion pedals (12AU7 tube, runs off of 4 AA's, 20 hours on a set of batteries). Apples Logic Express recording software (for $299 I can finally get some excellent recording software designed specifically for a mac), William Kritzberg Guitars (check em out at www.wdkguitars.com) awesome playing/sounding guitars - incredibly light weight. The Moollon series of pedals - they all sounded excellent and they look very cool (check them out at www.moollon.com).

Great! Thanks for the shots of the orange Duo-caster, outrageous. I think that just went to the top of the GAS list for now.

Cool also to see a shot of Jim Chapin, Harry's dad, he is an incredible drummer and a wonderfully nice man.

Re: Saturday NAMM

He was great to talk with, very friendly, very sharp for someone who has to be around 80 or so, he came in using a walker, sat down and played like you wouldn't believe! I can only hope that if I make it to his age (and I'm not in a diaper) I can still play and enjoy myself with music. Once I saw that orange tele hanging I knew it had to be the one you were asking about, if you want a large size pic (3.2mb) let me know and I'll post it on my website for you to download.

Re: Saturday NAMM

did you get a chance to try out that orange stagg at all by chance? also, is that a Z06 vette style bright yellow PRS???? oh man i'm lovin' that, one of my favorite cars combined with my favorite guitar...droooool. (i told ya anything car related gets me hahaha) i could see it now if i was there, everyone would be drooling over the double neck dragon while i'd be gawking at the plane jane yellow Z06 one next to it lol...i guess i have odd taste but man that's sweet! could you send me a large version of that pic please? thanks again for all the cool pics!

RiffRaff,
Man, thanks for the cools pics.

About the Moollon pedals: which pedals did you hear? What can you say about the sound? They look stunning.

I listened to the guy demo the octavia clone, the overdrive, the fuzz, the signal boost and the distortion - they all sounded great - but I've got to remember this is the namm show so nothing is turned up, the guys was using a badcat 30, the amp was clean so the overdrive/distortion/fuzz were being used without any support from the overdrive in the amp. I was very impressed and I've heard just about every kind of pedal in existence. I have no clue what they cost, but being made in Korea I would imagine they have a fairly low street price.

Great pics...but what where are all the Gibsons? :laugh2: ;)

Those Rat Bastards, I tried my absolute best schmooz and couldn't get my foot in the door.... I have no idea what that was all about - hopefully they get burned on it and loose some customers - hell if the rumors about GC buying Gibson are correct I can only imagine what will happen to them as a company!

I didn't play the orange one but I did pick one up off the rack and play around with it, nice guitar, reasonable price range, some very cool paint schemes. There are ssssssoooooo many guitar companies now pumping out decent product in the $300 -$600 range it's unbelievable, the Micheal Kelley guitars were also very nicely made, light, played great and were very reasonable.
