SBT? on the bottom of my Tele pickup.

Hello all, first post here. Great community.
I was swapping some pickups around today and when I took out my bridge pickup in my tele I noticed it had the letters "SBT" written in a blue paint pen. There are no other markings, labels etc. Does anyone know which pickup this is?
It isn't listed on SD's pickup ID page.
Thanks for any help!

Hello, and welcome.

Can't say I have ever seen Seymour write in blue paint pen. This is a certain Duncan pickup?

Pics?

Here's a pic.

I've searched this site pretty well before posting and found one other fella (link below) asking the same question 6 years ago but wasn't answered. Seems like there might be some of these floating around. Maybe prototypes?

OK, I have no idea. I hadn't seen the blue paint pen before.

Put a meter on it, but my bet is a Broadcaster STL-1B

The writing on the bottom could have been from an OEM

Or could have been an ID thing for potential theft.

I have an old p90 that seems to have an etching on the bottom of someone's name - I'm betting for the same reason.

"Agileguy" had the same thing, so that is why I think maybe it was an OEM note. I don't know if the STL-1 ever came stock on a production guitar though.

This would make sense. So far, this is my 'most likely' explanation.

I was thinking "single" "tele" "bridge" as well. Was there a certain year they started stamping "made in america or usa"? That might help me at least get an idea of it's age.

That baseplate has been around since the days of the three letter stickers, so that is too broad. I am going to see if Riley can look into this.

As far as I know we would not have made that kind of marking on the pickup here – could be an OEM thing. I'll see if I can dig anything else up and check back in later.
