Schaller 2n1 vs Super D

I'd bet the Schaller is close to the original DP103 (and still don't understand why DiMarzio kept the same "DP103" reference for the basically different design illustrated by their 36th model)...

I have a DP103 from early 90s and values are so close, too.

While talking about the "original" DP103, I was actually thinking about the very first iteration, released in the 70's, and that I've played on stage when I was young.

We had no inductance meters and I didn't know what inductance is anyway. But the thing had its own sound according to my aural memory.

ive played an old dp103 paf and it was great as a neck pup! i have a 36th anniversary and its ok, someone else will enjoy it more than i do

The dp103 I have in my O'Hagan shark would be 1979.
So thats a few years off the original inception of it.
Anyway I think my 59s are more smoother and less scooped that the dp103.....that said I didnt adjust the dp103 that guitar was setup by a local tech freind when I had him straighted the neck and level the frets....the pickup is also installed( factory) backwards with screw bobbin towards the bridge.

I have a vintage Dimarzio PAF in the neck and it was fantastic;

I also have a DP103 PAF from early 90s. Havent but it's a bit different. More powerful, lots more lows, a bit muddy because of that. Measurements are more similar to the '59 bridge than the vintage Dimarzio PAF.
