I haven't got any info on the net...but from the tone I'm guessing that they could be Alnico II's...if you have any info I would be glad to hear thanks...

the bridge golden 50 uses alnico II and is the same wind, wire gauge, and specs as the gibson 57 classic pup:cool:
the neck also uses a II and is slightly less in resistance at 7.4K
the bridge is at 8.2K

thanks

thanks

thanks for answering pal...you've cleared my mind now I'm sure :1: ...

ive heard these before and they dont come close to a seth or any other duncan ive tried. they sounded kinda flat, not bad but not good

yes but the do however sound like the classic 57's by gibson;)

sorta, i like the 57 classics a little better but it could be the guitars they were in

I must disagree. I have used the Golden 50 in various different guitars and it sounds awesome whether in single coil, humbucking or parallel mode. Great pups. I've played for 30 years and have used lots of gear.
The single coils and the hot version of the Golden 50 are great too. - Rob McFee

I am referring to the Shaller Golden 50 PAF copy. I can't recall what the hot one was called. It was in the Stew-Mac catalogue at one time. I haven't looked lately.
I tried one (hot Schaller) that came out of a friend's guitar and loved the sound. Loud and bright but good tone. Of course tone is subjective! I have a friend who likes his Hiwatt amps with so much treble that it kills me. - Rob

Oh you mean the one they called the 2 in 1 bucker;)

No... Stewmac Golden Age are korean made, cheap HB's, not related to Schaller.
actually the golden age pups are not built cheap at all, they are built exactly the same as schaller(bobbins, base plate, etc) stew mac closed out schallers in favor of these due to the fact they sounded better and were more afforadable than schaller
i have the 12K one i got on a whim and it suprised me to say the least:eek:
it was very good!

I think it was the 2 in 1 bucker. But I tried both the Golden 50 and the 2 in 1 and they were both super. The Golden 50 really nailed a PAF tone and sounded awesome when you split the coils. - Rob

Hey, maybe they sound good, but they ARE cheap, korean made pickups. I never comment about their tone, never tried. I only comment on FACTS. :D

well I've actually tested and compared them with many other pickups on LP guitars like Epi's & other LP sytle brands and they were actually superior tone but I haven't compared them to duncans...they're indeed good pickups maybe not the best but not bad either...
